Shiki is a soba (buckwheat) noodle house hidden in the backstreets of Shimoyoko-cho. Here, you can sample all manner of common udon and soba noodle serving styles for 500 yen or less.
The noodles are smooth on the outside, perfect for slurping and are served in a hearty, full-bodied broth. The tempura cooked by the owner who worked in a tempura restaurant previously is just 80 yen a piece. Seasonable vegetables, vegetable fritters, and squid are crisply fried daily. The warm welcome you receive by the owner and his wife will make you feel at home.
