Kanaizawa Stela

Kanaizawa Stela is a tombstone made in 726, and is 111 cm tall. On a field-stone made from pyroxene andesite, 112 words are craved onto it. Along with Yamanoue Stela and Tago Stela, it is called the 3 Kozuke tombstones. It was created by the ancient powerful clan Miyakenoshi to honor their ancestors. The Miyakeno clan are thought to be the descendant clan of those who managed the “Sano Miyake” (the base for the local government of the Yamato Government.)
